Twins continue winning streak with victory over White Sox, now at 9 games and the longest since 2008

The Minnesota Twins secured a thrilling 6-5 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, extending their winning streak to an impressive nine games. This marks the longest winning streak for the franchise since 2008 and has been a remarkable turnaround for the team, which started the season with a dismal 7-13 record but has now improved to 16-13, just 3.5 games behind the AL Central-leading Cleveland Guardians.

The White Sox initially took a commanding 2-0 lead but fell behind 4-2 in the fourth inning. The game remained tied until the fifth inning when Minnesota scored two runs to take a 6-5 lead. However, the White Sox refused to give up and tied things up in the bottom of the eighth inning with a solo home run by Yoel Gomez. But it was all Twins in the ninth as Max Kepler brought Byron Buxton home with a sacrifice fly, sealing the win at 6-5.

The Twins’ recent success has been fueled by their quirky tradition of summer sausage in the dugout. The sausage was brought to the dugout by hitting coach David Popkins at the start of a recent series against the White Sox and players have since been tapping it for good luck before every game. The tradition has become a fun and unique part of their success story and is sure to continue as they strive for continued success on
