Social Media Platform X Empowers Users with New Account Blocking Feature

Recently, social media platform X has introduced a new policy change to its account blocking feature. This update will allow users to view responses to their posts from accounts they have previously blocked on the platform. The Engineering account on X explained that this change was made to give users more control over their experience while maintaining public visibility of posts.

Previously, when a user blocked another account, the blocked account could still respond to the user’s posts, but the user who initiated the block could not see these responses. However, with this new update, users can now view responses from accounts they have blocked.

The aim of this change is to enable users to identify and report any incorrect content that they could not previously see. Elon Musk, owner of the platform, had previously stated that he was not in favor of the blocking feature and announced that it would be removed except for direct messages. Despite being required by application stores like Google Play and Apple Store, Musk argued that it did not make sense.
