On Saturday, attendees of the Mississippi State Department of Health’s “Be in Good Health” symposium will be treated to a day filled with soulful music and valuable health information. The symposium, which takes place at the Jackson Convention Complex from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., promises to be an engaging and inspiring experience that brings together health experts, gospel choirs, and free health screenings.
Eight choirs will participate in the competition, including Anderson United Methodist Church Praise Team, Pastor J Artie Stuckey & VOR, and Jemero Carter & Kingdomology. The event is being organized by the Office of Health Equity and the Community Engagement Center of the Jackson Heart Study, who are committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing health disparities in Mississippi communities.
The symposium will feature informative talks from health experts on a range of topics, including nutrition, exercise, stress management, and more. Attendees can also take advantage of free health screenings that will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the competition and symposium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To reserve a seat at the event, individuals can click on the provided link or sign up for the free newsletter to stay informed about Mississippi’s latest news and events related to health and wellness.
