“May the Science Be With You” Makes a Return to Las Vegas this Thursday

Las Vegas will host the ‘May the Science Be With You’ event on Thursday, a popular occasion that blends Star Wars with science. This event is a joint effort between the Atomic Museum and the Desert Research Institute (DRI), and promises to be an exciting, free and family-friendly experience.

The event will feature science demonstrations and hands-on activities such as Padawan training, providing attendees with an interactive learning experience. Visitors can also expect to see community partner booths and food trucks on-site.

Shawna Witt, DRI STEM Education Coordinator, stated that the event’s interactive nature is one of its highlights, with engineering tools like snap circuits and remote controlled model rovers available for kids to explore. Matt Malinowski, Atomic Museum Director of Education, added that this event appeals to Star Wars fans and encourages them to come meet some characters while having fun and possibly learning something new.

The ‘May the Science Be With You’ event takes place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at 755 E. Flamingo Road as part of the Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival. The Atomic Museum will also be offering half-priced admission to museum exhibits during the event.
