In May, residents of Oregon will have the chance to support their local economy by voting in favor of the Oregon Zoo bond. The zoo is not only a fun and educational destination for kids, families, and seniors, but it also plays a vital role in driving economic activity in the region.
The zoo attracts over 1.3 million visitors annually, many of whom come from outside the area. These visitors contribute to the local economy by staying in hotels, shopping at local businesses, and dining at restaurants. The zoo’s impact goes beyond its own operations, creating a positive ripple effect that benefits the entire community.
Measure 26-244, which is on the ballot, will provide much-needed funding for infrastructure upgrades at the Oregon Zoo.
