Surfers Killed in Robbery at Mexican Pacific Resort Spark Protests and Remind Importance of Traveler Safety

Three surfers, two Australian and one American, were shot and killed in an attempted robbery at a Pacific resort in Mexico. The bodies of Jake and Callum Robinson of Australian origin, along with their friend Jack Carter, were found in a well in a cliff in Ensenada. Authorities confirmed that the victims were targeted specifically for their van’s tires during an attempted robbery.

The families of the victims arrived in Mexico to identify the bodies and received assistance from consular authorities. The prosecutor’s office in Baja California disclosed that the motive behind the crime was an attempted robbery of the tourists’ van.
