The Pückler Park Branitz in Cottbus is currently hosting an open-air exhibition that showcases the effects of climate change on the park. From April 30th to October 31st, visitors can explore twelve stations within the inner park that provide information on how climate change is impacting the soil, water system, trees, and meadows of the park. In addition to examining the natural elements of the park, the exhibition also delves into how climate change is affecting buildings and museum operations within the castle rooms.
The curators of “Symbiotic Lab” have added a contemporary art perspective to the exhibition by featuring artists Lea Grebe, Tayfun Erdogmus, and Jakob Kukula. The park is presented as a laboratory for the future, exploring how art can help us understand and address climate change.
The collaboration with the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Berlin-Brandenburg Foundation has also led to an open-air exhibition on climate change in Potsdam’s Sanssouci Park. The Castle Foundation will host this exhibition from April 30th to October 31st and aims to raise awareness about how climate change is impacting historic gardens and cultural heritage sites. Through these exhibitions, we hope to encourage visitors to take action to protect our natural world and preserve it for future generations.
