Kaman teams up with Textron Systems to enhance Kargo UAV technology

Textron Systems and Kaman have recently announced a strategic partnership agreement to work together on opportunities and critical technologies for Kaman’s Kargo UAV. With 30 years of experience in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), Textron Systems brings extensive knowledge, technical expertise, and insights on safety and airworthiness to the partnership.

According to Romin Dasmalchi, general manager of Kargo UAV, the collaboration with Textron Systems is seen as a valuable opportunity for both parties. “We are excited about this agreement as it will help us maintain pace towards productionizing and scaling our Kargo UAV,” he said.

Wayne Prender, senior vice president of Air Systems at Textron Systems, emphasized the importance of collaborating with Kaman to build on their decades-long experience in UAS and expand their capability set. Both companies are looking forward to supporting the critical capability that Kaman’s Kargo UAV brings to the market.

The Kargo UAV is a purpose-built, medium-lift UAS designed to meet the needs of a global market. With the combined capabilities of Textron Systems and Kaman, this UAS will be accessible to customers in both commercial and defense markets worldwide. This collaboration is expected to enhance the capabilities of the Kargo UAV and strengthen its position in the industry.
