36 Athletes from 11 Countries Across 12 Sports to Represent Refugee Team in Paris Olympics

The Paris Olympics will feature a Refugee Team comprising 36 athletes from 11 countries. These athletes, who have been selected from over 70 scholarships, will compete in 12 sports. Instead of competing under the Olympic flag, the refugees will have their own emblem, which features a heart at its center surrounded by arrows. This team, known as EOR (Équipe Olympique des Réfugiés), will be led by Masomah Ali Zada of Afghanistan, who expressed the importance of having their own emblem.

The Refugee Team will participate in athletics, badminton, boxing, breaking, canoeing, cycling, judo, shooting, swimming, taekwondo, weightlifting and wrestling. The Paris Olympics are set to begin on July 24th and provide an opportunity for these talented athletes to showcase themselves on an international stage.
