French police encircle the Iranian consulate in Paris, detain individual who threatened to detonate explosives

On Friday, a man was arrested by the French Police at the Iran consulate in Paris after threatening to blow himself up. The suspect had entered the premises carrying a grenade or explosive belt, according to witnesses. The consulate requested an immediate intervention, which led to the mobilization of an elite police unit. In response, the whole neighborhood surrounding the consulate in the 16th district was cordoned off for safety.
