Jimmies softball team splits doubleheader with Doane – Jamestown Sun

On April 19, the University of Jamestown faced off against Doane University in a doubleheader at the Nelson Family Bubble. The Jimmies emerged victorious in the first game with a thrilling 2-1 win over the Tigers.

The game began with the Tigers taking an early lead when Anna Prauner hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Jeryn Allen and putting them up 1-0. However, in the bottom of the sixth inning, Mackenzie Lefebvre hit a double, driving in two runners and giving the Jimmies a 2-1 advantage.

In response to the Jimmies’ comeback, Hope Ransome pitched a complete game for the Jimmies, giving up only one run on four hits while striking out six and walking two. Meanwhile, Abbi Arroyo started for Doane and pitched 5.1 innings, allowing one earned run on five hits with one walk and one strikeout.
