The Timberline School team recently returned from competing in the National Science Bowl held in Washington, D.C. The team of 8th graders, including Krish Joshi, Neil Nallabirudu, Ishani Atluri, Adwaiyth Muthuranam, and Evan Midtlyng, earned their spot in the competition after winning at the regional level earlier in the school year.
Ishani Atluri stressed the importance of hard work and effort in preparation for such a broad competition. She also commented on the rigorous study schedule required to succeed in this field. Despite losses during the competition, Julie Stevens is incredibly proud of her team’s determination and teamwork. She noted that they were self-motivated and eager to continue improving their skills with hopes of competing at the high school level in the future.
Neil Nallabirudu and Krish Joshi mentioned how much fun they had participating in various activities during the event and meeting new people. Apart from the competition, students visited historical sites such as Ford’s Theater, Lincoln Memorial, and Washington Monument as well as Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum while in Washington D.C., which was a memorable educational experience for them.
