Twins welcome Carlos Correa back from injured list after 16-game absence due to strained rib cage muscle

The Minnesota Twins have welcomed back shortstop Carlos Correa, who has been reinstated from the 10-day injured list. He missed 16 games due to a strained right rib cage muscle. Despite not needing a rehabilitation assignment, Correa is now ready to rejoin the team as they face the Chicago White Sox in a three-game series.

To make room for Correa on the roster, the Twins have optioned multi-position player Austin Martin to Triple-A St. Paul. In his 22 games with the team, Martin batted .226 with 16 runs, six doubles, six walks, two steals, and one home run. With Correa back in the lineup, the Twins are looking forward to having his offensive production and defensive skills on the field once again.

While Correa was out, Willi Castro filled in at shortstop for the majority of the games. Despite missing out on some valuable playing time during his absence, Castro showed promise and proved he could handle being a starting shortstop in major league baseball. The Twins are happy to have both him and Correa available for their upcoming series against the White Sox.

Overall, the addition of Correa back to the lineup will be crucial for the success of this season’s Minnesota Twins team. His strong start to the season before his injury showed that he is a valuable asset to this team’s offense and defense. With his return, fans can expect more exciting moments from this talented young player as he continues to showcase his skills on the field.
