U.S. Soccer announced on Monday that the United States and Mexico have decided to withdraw their bid to host the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Instead, the two nations will focus on pursuing a bid to host the 2031 Women’s World Cup in an effort to create a more equitable hosting plan. This decision comes as the U.S. and Mexico are already set to host the 2026 World Cup alongside Canada, marking the first time the tournament will be hosted by three countries.
