Piedmont Family Practice, a healthcare provider based in Warrenton, Virginia, has been acquired by UVA Health, a healthcare provider based in Charlottesville, Virginia. The two parties have finalized a purchase sale agreement and anticipate that the transaction will be completed by the summer, as per a UVA Health news release issued on May 7.
UVA Health’s acquisition of Piedmont Family Practice is a strategic move to expand its healthcare services and offerings. The practice is home to a team of 90 employees, including seven physicians, 17 advanced practice providers, a registered dietitian, and a certified diabetic educator. Upon the completion of the acquisition, all current employees at the practice will remain employed under UVA Health ownership.
Piedmont Family Practice offers three core clinical services: Piedmont Family Practice provides general health services; Piedmont Urgent Care offers COVID-19 testing, lab testing, and general urgent-care services; and The Bariatric and Metabolic Weight Loss Center offers weight maintenance programs, weight loss programs, screenings for body composition analysis, non-surgical weight loss options and mental health services.
