Could Texas Walmart health centers shut down because of increasing costs?

In Texas, Walmart has eight health centers located next to Supercenters in various cities such as Fort Worth, Garland, Palestine, Pearland, Royse City, Sugar Land, Tomball, and Tyler. These health centers offer a variety of services including medical, dental, and behavioral health care. Since their introduction in 2019, Walmart has opened 51 clinics in five states across the U.S. However, the retailer has announced the closure of these 51 health centers and its telehealth business. The company stated that there is not a sustainable business model for them to continue operating the health centers and this decision will impact patients, associates, providers and communities. More information about the closure dates of each center will be shared with the public once it’s decided.
