According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to launch new iPad Pro models with OLED displays in early May. This update will bring significant advancements in display technology to Apple devices, offering more vibrant colors and deeper blacks compared to traditional LCD displays. Additionally, the company is set to expand the iPad Air lineup by introducing a model with a 12.9-inch display for the first time.
Gurman’s sources suggest that the new iPad Pro models will come equipped with Apple’s M3 chip, introducing a new generation of internal processors that promise enhanced performance and energy efficiency. A larger trackpad is also expected to be included in the update to the Magic Keyboard, offering users a more comfortable and productive experience. In contrast, the iPad Air is rumored to feature the previous generation M2 chip, showcasing Apple’s commitment to providing high performance even in its more accessible devices. The new Air will be available in two display sizes: the standard 10.9-inch version and a larger 12.9-inch variant.
This upcoming update signifies a significant generational leap for both product lines. Originally expected to be launched in late March or April, the unveiling of the new devices has been pushed back to May as Apple requires more time to complete software development, as per Bloomberg.
