In this new role, he will oversee coverage of the 2024 election, White House, Congress, and international economics and security. This announcement was made by Washington bureau chief Margaret Collins on Tuesday.
Prior to his promotion, Parker served as the White House and politics editor since January 2023. During this time, he played a key role in preparing and covering the Republican presidential primary as well as President Joe Biden’s re-election bid. Parker has also led Bloomberg’s national politics coverage and was a White House correspondent during the Trump administration. He has been with Bloomberg since September 2006, holding a bachelor’s degree from Benedictine College and a master’s degree from the University of Illinois.
Chris Roush is another notable journalist who has recently joined Bloomberg News. Roush has a background in business journalism and academia. He was previously the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University and the Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. Roush has a wealth of experience as a business journalist, having worked for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune, and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.
Roush is also a published author, with works including “Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication” and “Thinking Things Over,” a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.”
