Brighton’s Growing Grads program is a unique initiative aimed at providing young entrepreneurs in the city with the skills and knowledge needed to start and run a successful business. The program covers a range of topics, including creative and communication skills, as well as the expenses to consider when starting a business.
According to Tawnya Russell, Youth Services Manager, the program has been highly successful in helping young people develop important business skills and gain self-confidence. The boot camp is constantly evolving to meet the needs of all participants and is expected to be even better in 2024.
The boot camp will take place at Brighton’s City Hall on 500 South 4th Ave. An orientation for all ages will take place on June 25 from 3-5 p.m., while the program itself will run on June 26 and June 27.
The program is designed for young adults aged 19 and below, with separate sessions for different age groups. The program for those aged 12 and younger will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while the program for those aged 13 and older will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m..
Upon completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to sell their products at the Brighton City BBQ festival on July 18th, providing them with valuable experience in marketing and selling their own products. Registration for the boot camp can be done through the city’s website by June 14th, with any questions or inquiries directed to Tawnya Russell, Manager of Youth Services, at (303)655-2123 or trussell@brightonco
