Captain America: “Brave New World” Premieres First Footage at CinemaCon: Harrison Ford Requests Anthony Mackie to Rebuild the Avengers

The upcoming Captain America: Brave New World film was showcased at Disney’s CinemaCon 2024 presentation, featuring footage of Harrison Ford’s Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross asking Anthony Mackie’s Captain America to rebuild the Avengers. In the clip, President Ross is seen at the White House in Washington, D.C., with a new clean-shaven look due to losing his mustache for the election campaign. He talks about the need for Captain America to reform the Avengers and references the recovery of a stolen item called the Millennium from a Japanese mining site.

As chaos ensues when a high-pitched sound triggers Isaiah Bradley and another agent to open fire, leading to a confrontation where even President Ross throws a punch. According to Captain America (Sam Wilson), the inner circle has been compromised. The film, set for release on February 14, 2025, will explore what makes someone Captain America and delve into Wilson’s journey as the new Cap. Liv Tyler will reprise her role as Betty Ross from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, while Tim Blake Nelson will appear as Samuel Sterns/The Leader in this latest installment of Marvel’s iconic franchise.

In addition to Captain America: Brave New World, CinemaCon 2024 also featured footage from Gladiator 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, along with updates from Warner Bros.’ presentation.
