Recently, Marvel Studios presented the upcoming film Captain America: Brave New World in Las Vegas. During the presentation, Kevin Feige talked about how fans still rave about Captain America: The Winter Soldier because of its action-packed thriller approach. Feige assured fans that Cap 4 will continue in that tradition and even showed a sneak peek of a new clip from the movie.
Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, has been portraying the hero since The Winter Soldier in 2014 and has appeared in several Marvel movies. He later starred in his own Disney+ series, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which focused on Sam accepting the mantle of Captain America as a Black man in America after Steve Rogers retired.
The new film takes place in a world where Sam is fully embracing his new role as Captain America. Directed by Julius Onah, the movie also introduces Harrison Ford to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Thunderbolt Ross. Other cast members include Danny Ramirez, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, Carl Lumbly, and Shira Haas.
In an intense scene from the film, Thunderbolt Ross becomes President of the United States and summons Sam Wilson to help him rebuild the Avengers. However, chaos ensues when former soldier Isiah Bradley gets triggered and attempts to assassinate the president.
Marvel Studios has reduced its media output to focus and recalibrate its projects. With only one film scheduled for release this year, Captain America 4 is set to hit theaters on February 14, 2025, followed by Fantastic Four on July 25, 2025.
The presentation ended with a sizzling reel showing Thunderbolt Ross acknowledging Sam Wilson as Captain America and Sam acknowledging that he is not Steve Rogers
