Delivering the latest sailing updates for seafaring enthusiasts

Kirsten Neuschäfer, a South African sailor, has been nominated for the Laureus World Sports Awards. She is the only sailing nominee for her remarkable achievements in 2023, which include becoming the first woman to win a solo round-the-world race.

Neuschäfer crossed the finish line at Les Sables d’Olonne in France on April 27 after over 235 days at sea. Her achievement earned her the 2023 Rolex World Sailor of the Year award and has also placed her in the Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year category.
