Prosecutors: Two women sexually assaulted at unlicensed chiropractic business in Massachusetts

In Somerville, Massachusetts, a 60-year-old man, Jose Mendez, is facing charges for indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 and indecent exposure. The Middlesex District Attorney, Marian Ryan, stated that Mendez was operating an unlicensed chiropractic business on Cross Street in Somerville.

Prosecutors allege that two women were inappropriately touched during treatment sessions at the illegal business. In one incident, Mendez is accused of unzipping his pants and exposing himself to one of the women. Mendez was arraigned in Somerville District Court, where his bail was set at $5,500, and he was ordered to stay away from the victims. The judge also prohibited Mendez from practicing as a chiropractor.

Mendez’s next court appearance is scheduled for May 14. WBZ-TV interviewed Mendez after his arrest, but he denied the allegations and declined to offer further comment, stating that he needed to speak to his lawyer.
