Police report arrest of Madison man involved in five business break-ins

A 37-year-old man was arrested in Rusk County after being accused of breaking into five businesses in Madison, according to police reports. The Madison Police Department’s Burglary Crime Unit conducted investigations and linked the man to multiple break-ins that occurred between mid and late January.

The break-ins took place at various locations in Madison, including three businesses on Monroe Street, one on the 400 block of W. Gilman Street, and another on the 2400 block of University Avenue. One of the reported incidents involved a break-in at a business on Gilman Street where the front door was broken, and cash register trays were stolen.
