Curiosity is set to investigate the mysteries of “Garden City” with a focus on analyzing the veins’ dark and light portions using its MAHLI, APXS, ChemCam, and Mastcam instruments. The rover will also conduct environmental monitoring activities, measuring atmospheric composition and opacity as well as searching for dust devils.
Although the weekend plan did not go as planned, the images received show that the outcrop is complex and requires further exploration. The team is excited to delve deeper into this intriguing area and gain more insights into the geology of Mars. With each new discovery, Curiosity continues to provide valuable data that enhances our understanding of the Martian landscape.
