Emplify Health: Formerly Bellin Health, Gundersen Health System

Emplify Health has been officially formed as a result of the merger between Bellin Health and Gundersen Health System. The merger, which was finalized in December 2022, aims to increase access to care, cultivate a culture of empathy, and enhance population health outcomes.

Emplify is a name that represents the hospitals and clinics’ commitment to understanding and amplifying their patients’ well-being. Scott Rathgaber, CEO of Bellin and Gundersen Health System, explained that Emplify is derived from the words “empathy” and “amplify,” reflecting their dedication to improving the lives of their patients and communities.

The rebranding process will take place over the next few months as all hospitals and clinics undergo a name change to Emplify Health. Entities such as Gundersen Medical Foundation and The Bellin Health Foundation will retain their names and continue operating independently. Funds received by each foundation will still be used for the intended purposes by their donors.

Patients can expect to receive the same care from their familiar providers at the same locations they are accustomed to. Rathgaber stated that the transition to Emplify Health will take several years to complete fully.
