UMBC is seeking a Visiting Professor in Psychological Science

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is currently seeking applicants for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Department of Africana Studies. This unique opportunity is ideal for candidates with a PhD in Psychological Science and experience working with African American or African diasporic communities using a community-based participatory approach.

The successful candidate will teach five courses per academic year, including one or two introductory courses each semester, and have the possibility of teaching cross-listed courses with the Psychology Department and School of Social Work. Research areas that cover culture, mental health disparities education, positive youth development, family science, racial identity, racial stress and trauma, diversity science, and intergroup relations are encouraged to apply.

Candidates should also have experience with multi-disciplinary, interdisciplinary, or collaborative research and be committed to creating student-centered and active learning environments.
