Pippa Scott, a former resident of Frisco, is set to participate in a snowboard slopestyle competition at USASA Nationals at Copper Mountain from March 29 to April 3. During the event, she will also be showcasing the work of Ride for Mental Health in the vendor village.
Ride for Mental Health aims to promote open and supportive conversations about teen suicide within the snowsports community. The organization provides resources and education to athletes, parents, and coaches to help them recognize and manage the struggles associated with competitive sports. They also work towards removing the stigma surrounding mental health challenges by encouraging individuals to share their experiences with compassion and empathy.
Through fundraising, workshops, and seminars, Ride for Mental Health prioritizes engaging the community and educating athletes, parents, and coaches. The goal is to empower individuals to navigate mental health issues more effectively and create a supportive environment for all members of the snowsports community.
Pippa Scott, who founded Ride for Mental Health believes that being vulnerable with friends is just as important as achieving success in competitions. She stresses the importance of creating impact and change within the community by fostering a culture of openness and support.
