After a violent turn of events on Senior Skip Day in Maryland, five shots were fired: ‘The state of our world is concerning.’

Greenbelt Mayor Emmett V. Jordan expressed his concern over the state of the world after a high school senior skip day party in Greenbelt, Maryland, resulted in five people being shot at a park. The incident occurred at Hanover Parkway in Prince George’s County, where hundreds of students had gathered for the event. Shots were fired around 2:30 p.m., leaving victims aged 16 to 18 injured.

Police Chief Rick Bowers condemned the shooting as a horrible, tragic, and senseless act, indicating that it was supposed to be a day of celebration for seniors. While no arrests have been made, police believe there is a suspect who fled the scene during the chaos. Bowers, along with the Mayor and city manager, promised to bring the perpetrator to justice and asked for the public’s cooperation in solving the case.

The victims were taken to the hospital, with one in critical condition and the others in stable condition. The incident has left many questioning why high school students can’t gather in peace. Meanwhile, please click here to get updates on this developing story via Fox News app.
