Richard J. Simoncic appointed as Microchip Technology’s new COO

Richard J. Simoncic has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer at Microchip Technology Incorporated, effective April 1, 2024. With over 30 years of experience at the company, Simoncic has steadily risen through the ranks since joining in 1990, most recently serving as Executive Vice President. He will now be working closely with President and CEO Ganesh Moorthy to continue driving growth and success for Microchip Technology.

Senior Vice President Stephen V. Drehobl is set to retire on June 7, 2024. The appointment of Simoncic ensures that there will be continuity and experience in Microchip Technology’s leadership, allowing for a smooth transition as Drehobl steps down.
