The Tigers of Mizzou baseball defeated Lindenwood 13-1 in just seven innings on Tuesday, completing a season sweep. Javyn Pimental started the game on the mound and pitched a scoreless first inning before Kaden Jacobi took over and allowed only one run in the next three innings.
Mizzou’s offense got off to a quick start, with Justin Colon driving in Danny Corona to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead in the first inning. In the fourth inning, with the game tied at one, Mizzou’s offense erupted. Jackson Beaman hit a solo homer followed by Jack Holubowski’s first career hit. The Tigers scored nine runs in the inning, with contributions from Brock Daniels, Jackson Lovich, Colon, and Corona among others. Matt Garcia’s three-run homer made it 10-1 Mizzou.
The pitchers for Mizzou, Victor Quinn, Ben Pederson, and Xavier Lovett closed out the game without allowing any more runs. The offense added three more runs in the sixth inning, resulting in a 13-1 victory. This was Mizzou’s 20th win of the season under Head Coach Kerrick Jackson’s leadership. The team has an impressive home record of 13-10.
Mizzou’s next challenge is a weekend series at home against South Carolina starting on Friday at 6:00 p.m. The Tigers will look to continue their winning streak and improve their record as they face a tough opponent in South Carolina.
