Great Falls competitive cheer team qualifies for All Star World competition

Rise Athletics, a competitive cheer team from Great Falls, Montana, is on track to make history at the All Star World competition. This year marks the program’s fourth consecutive appearance at the event, and for the first time in their history, they will be sending all three of their elite teams to compete.

Lani McCarthy, owner of Rise Athletics, expressed her excitement about this achievement. “It’s an honor to have all three teams qualify for such a prestigious event,” she said. “We started with just two teams in our early days and have grown to six teams with a record of regional championships, national titles, and appearances at world competitions.”

The youth and junior teams received at-large bids this year while the senior team secured a paid bid, covering their expenses for the competition. Coach Emma McCarthy emphasized the significance of competing at the world level. “This is an opportunity for our athletes to showcase their skills as athletes and demonstrate their passion for cheerleading,” she said.

As the only competitive cheer team in Great Falls and the sole Montana team to receive a bid, Rise Athletics is proud to represent their town and state on a global stage. The All Star World competition will take place from April 18-21 in Orlando, Florida, where the Rise Athletics teams will put their talent and hard work to the test.

In recent years, Rise Athletics has won major competitions and built confidence as they prepare for world competition. This year has been no exception as they have performed exceptionally well in various tournaments.

Rise Athletics started with just two teams while renting space at a gymnastics gym before growing into six teams with a remarkable record of regional championships, national titles and appearances at world competitions.

As coach Emma McCarthy emphasizes “This is not just about winning but also about pushing ourselves beyond our limits as athletes.” The All Star World competition provides an excellent platform for athletes to showcase their skills on an international stage.

With three elite teams competing this year at All Star Worlds, Lani McCarthy feels confident that this will be another successful year for her program. She believes that this achievement is not only significant for her program but also for Great Falls community as it puts them on a global stage.
