North Augusta softball secured a dominant 11-8 victory over Midland Valley to win the series and claim the Region 4-AAAA title. The team achieved a 10-1 record in the region, continuing their streak of region championships. This success earned North Augusta a No. 1 seed and the opportunity to host their first playoff game on March 30th.
Despite a lackluster offensive performance in the second game of the series, the team rebounded in the final game, scoring 11 runs on 13 hits. Pitcher LeAnn Gilbert played a pivotal role in the victory, pitching 6.1 innings with six strikeouts and four walks.
Following a strong performance against Airport, North Augusta regained their momentum and secured the region championship against Midland Valley. The team’s offensive prowess has been evident throughout the season, exemplified by their consistent double-digit scoring outputs.
