The San Diego Padres emerged victorious over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the second and final game of the Seoul Series with a final score of 15-11. The series was a hard-fought battle, with both teams putting up impressive performances.
Jake Cronenworth had a standout performance in Game 2, going 4-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored. After struggling in Game 1, Cronenworth redeemed himself with a strong showing in Game 2. His two-run triple in the first inning helped the Padres jump to an early 5-0 lead.
On the other hand, Yoshinobu Yamamoto had a forgettable outing making his debut with the Dodgers after signing a $325 million deal. He was pulled after the first inning, giving up five runs on four hits. Despite building an early lead, the Dodgers struggled to keep up and fell short as the Padres’ offense continued to score.
Mookie Betts had a standout game for the Dodgers, hitting the first home run of the 2024 season and earning a new car through MLB’s sponsorship deal with Hyundai. However, it was not enough to overcome their deficit as they fell short to their rivals.
As of now, both teams will head home to finish their spring training schedules before Opening Day on March 28th. The Dodgers will host St Louis Cardinals at home while San Diego Padres will welcome San Francisco Giants at Petco Park
