In April 2023, the Newlab at Michigan Central located in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood officially opened its doors. This innovative space is a testament to the city’s ongoing story of revitalization and transformation. Originally constructed from the remains of a crumbling book depository, Newlab now houses over 90 startups operating across various industries, including EV off-road vehicles and smart wheels designed for warehouse logistics. The facility’s primary goal is to help entrepreneurs speed up their product development cycle time, as outlined by CEO Cameron Lawrence.
