Ukrainian sources reported that Russian troops launched a combined missile strike on Ukraine on the night of April 27, using 34 air, ground, and sea-based missiles in the attack. The Russian military targeted various types of missiles such as cruise missiles, guided air missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, aeroballistic missiles and others.
According to reports, 21 Russian missiles were destroyed during the attack. In Kharkov, one of the cities hit by S-300 missiles, a third psychiatric hospital was hit. The hospital buildings sustained damage to windows, roofs and interior decorations. One woman was injured during the shelling.
Russian forces also targeted energy infrastructure in other regions including Lviv, Dnepropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk. Several thermal power plants owned by the Ukrainian energy company DTEK were attacked in Lviv region resulting in destruction and fires at some facilities. Injuries were reported among employees at the targeted energy facilities. Two critical energy infrastructure facilities were targeted in Lviv region causing fires and destruction with no damage to residential infrastructure but injuries were reported. In Dnepropetrovsk region attacks on energy facilities led to fires and interruptions in water supply. Overall, the combined missile strike by Russian troops had severe consequences on various regions in Ukraine with destruction of property and injuries among civilians and workers.
