The 22nd Annual Texas Science Olympiad to be Hosted at Texas A&M University

On Friday, the Brazos County Expo Complex in Bryan will host build/design-themed events that are open to the public. These events will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will showcase students’ skills in designing and building various structures, vehicles, and machines.

Saturday’s events at Texas A&M will be focused on laboratory and knowledge-based competitions, which are restricted to participants only. This includes challenges such as indoor bottle rockets, disease detection, potion making, and more. These rigorous academic contests aim to improve science education in schools by testing students’ problem-solving skills and teamwork abilities.

Each competing school can enter one team of 15 students in either Division B (grades 6-9) or Division C (grades 9-12). The two-day competition will feature over 56 events, with judges from Texas A&M, Blinn College, NASA, business representatives from Houston and Austin communities volunteering their expertise to set up and judge the competition.

The event concludes with an awards ceremony on Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m., held in Texas A&M’s Rudder Auditorium.
