Ludvig Åberg pulls out of Wells Fargo tournament due to knee injury

Ludvig Åberg, a 24-year-old Swede currently ranked sixth in the Official World Golf Ranking, announced on Monday that he would not be participating in this week’s Wells Fargo Championship due to a knee injury. This news has disappointed fans who were eager to see him compete at Quail Hollow Club for the first time.

After consulting with his doctors, Åberg decided that it was best for him to take some additional time to rest and recover from his knee issue. Although he did not specify which knee was injured, he expressed his excitement to play in next week’s PGA Championship and looks forward to getting back on the course soon.

In his last major appearance at the Masters, Åberg finished as the runner-up, marking his first career major start. He had not played since finishing T-10 the following week at the RBC Heritage. With Åberg withdrawing from the Wells Fargo Championship, Peter Malnati will take his spot in the field through the Aon Next 10, ensuring that the tournament will still have 69 players competing.
