RB Global, a global marketplace for buyers and sellers of commercial assets and vehicles, announced the appointment of Nancy King as their new chief technology officer effective June 3. The company, which is the parent company of IAA, highlighted King’s extensive hands-on information technology leadership experience with Fortune 100 organizations.
King most recently held the position of senior vice president of product engineering at Target, where she was responsible for driving the overall vision, strategy, and talent development for product engineering. During her time at Target, which spanned over years, she led the tech strategy for the company’s mobile apps, website, marketplace, and capability services.
RB Global CEO Jim Kessler praised King as a thoughtful and driven leader who brings a strong vision to her role. He described her as an innovator who has built cultures that foster collaboration and innovation across teams. Kessler believes that King’s leadership in this role will help strengthen the foundation of technology across RB Global and align teams and priorities to meet the needs of the business and industry.
King expressed excitement about joining RB Global at a time when the company is investing in technology and becoming a leading omnichannel marketplace for commercial assets and vehicles. She looks forward to collaborating with Jim, the leadership team, and the talented IT organization to build on RB Global’s culture of trust and transparency to deliver on commitments to clients, customers, and industry partners.
In addition to her role at Target, King has served as the executive sponsor for Target Women in Science and Technology (TWIST), a network of more than 200 women passionate about encouraging girls and young women to pursue STEM careers. She also played a key role in launching the Emerging Engineers Program aimed at supporting nontraditional pathways to engineering careers.
