The Texas Rangers honored their 2023 World Series champions by distributing the majority of their rings in a pre-game ceremony at Globe Life Field. However, the team also took the opportunity to present rings to former players who had moved on. This was made possible by Major League Baseball’s new schedule, which ensures that every team plays against each other at least once in a season.
During a recent homestand, the Rangers presented Seattle Mariners catcher Mitch Garver with his World Series ring in a pre-game ceremony. In Kansas City, the Rangers gave rings to three Royals players – pitchers Cole Ragans, Chris Stratton, and Will Smith. Ragans, though not with the Rangers during the World Series victory, had played with the team for the first three months of the season. Stratton was acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals by the Rangers along with Jordan Montgomery, who is now with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Smith has the unique distinction of being part of the last three World Series-winning teams – the Rangers, the Houston Astros in 2022, and the Atlanta Braves in 2021.
