Launch of the World’s Largest Sportfishing Superyacht

Vripack Yacht Design and Royal Husiman are currently working on the world’s largest sport fishing yacht, Special One (Project 406). This custom design is undergoing sea trials in the North Sea. The boat is an impressive 171 feet long, promising to redefine the concept of a big offshore fishing boat.

Bart M. Bouwhuis, Co-Creative Director at Vripack, describes Special One as a sportfisher on steroids, combining the proportions of an American sportfish boat with the luxurious feel of a yacht on a grand scale. With its long flaring bow and super chic curves, this yacht promises to offer a unique and impressive fishing experience.

The photos of Special One showcase its aluminum hull and superstructure, hinting at smooth and efficient passages to the fishing grounds. The well-designed fishing area at the stern suggests that this yacht is equipped to handle a variety of fishing experiences, from marlin to tuna.

While many sportfishing yachts are part of a larger fleet connected to a superyacht “mothership,” Special One may pave the way for a new trend of owners seeking a serious offshore sportfishing boat that also serves as a luxurious superyacht. Only time will tell if this yacht sets a new standard for sportfishing yachts in the industry.
