Duke’s Point Guard Jeremy Roach Announces Decision to Enter NBA Draft and Transfer Portal

After four successful years with the Blue Devils, Duke senior guard Jeremy Roach has announced that he will be declaring for the 2024 NBA Draft and entering the transfer portal. Despite his departure, Roach expressed his gratitude to the team and their fans for the unforgettable experience. With one more year of college eligibility remaining due to his COVID year, Roach had a standout season, posting career highs in several categories, including a 42.9% shooting percentage from beyond the arc. As a captain for Duke, he helped lead the team to the Elite Eight in March Madness.

However, Roach’s departure means that Duke may be without their top four scorers from last season, with Kyle Filipowski, Jared McCain, and Mark Mitchell all making moves as well. Despite this loss, Duke has an impressive recruiting class lined up for the upcoming season. The top recruiting class in the country, led by Rivals’ top prospect Cooper Flagg, includes other five-star recruits Kon Kneuppel, Isaiah Evans, and Khaman Maluach. With the addition of four-star players Patrick Ngongba II and Darren Harris, Duke has a strong roster ready to step up and contribute.
