On Monday, Venice and Riverview faced off in the boys lacrosse Class 2A-District 12 semifinals. The game ended with Venice emerging victorious over Riverview with a score of 11-5. Aiden Sleigher led the way for Venice with 4 goals and 3 assists, followed by John Ptaszek with 3 goals. Owen Alford had a goal and 3 assists for Venice, while Alex Denley contributed 2 goals and an assist. Alex Ptaszek made 14 saves in goal for Venice. On the other hand, Riverview’s Carter Unkel scored 2 goals, and JC Fleming and Jack Yochim each had a goal and 2 assists. Sean Spergl also scored for Riverview, with Dominick Speranza making 12 saves in goal. With the win, Venice improved to 11-4, while Riverview fell to 5-10.
