Government of Israel approves 19 billion shekels for reconstruction plan in Western Negev

The Israeli government has recently approved a program that will allocate 19 billion shekels over the next five years for the restoration and development of settlements on the border with Gaza Strip. This investment aims to develop the area and defend the country from threats like Hamas. The program will focus on housing, infrastructure, education, employment, medicine, and more.

The government’s plan is to transform the region into a hub for science and sports by expanding institutions like Sapir College and the southern “Wingate Institute.” Advanced agriculture using cutting-edge technologies will also be developed in the area, along with efforts to attract new residents and promote harmonious growth. The program was developed in collaboration with local authorities and will involve them in its implementation, focusing on housing construction, infrastructure development, economic growth, tourism, and increased security measures.

The government will prioritize the expansion of employment opportunities and the enhancement of personal and state security in the region. The plan aims to create a thriving community by focusing on multiple aspects of development, ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for the border settlements near Gaza.
