Weatherly assistant business manager featured in Times News Online

Weatherly Area School Board recently announced changes to their staff. Kristen Ritter, who returned to work last August after taking time off to raise her children, was transferred from a part-time cafeteria aide role to a full-time assistant business manager position. She brings 12 years of banking experience to her new role and will be working alongside outgoing business manager Leann Sites, whose last day is scheduled for May 21. The board approved Sites’ resignation at a meeting held on April 10 and expressed their gratitude for her service.

In other personnel decisions, the board hired Lori Giannakouros as a substitute cafeteria aide, Courtney Marscicano as a part-time paraprofessional, and Dianne Paisley as a substitute teacher, pending all clearances. The search for a new business manager is still ongoing. Jeanine Snyder, the manager of food services for the Nutrition Group at Weatherly Area, announced that she will be leaving her position on May 1 after seven years of service. Board member Bonnie Barbush commended Snyder for her work and expressed appreciation for her contributions.

During committee reports, the Property committee discussed necessary work on the school grounds, including drainage issues and the condition of the old tennis courts. Plans to add more dirt to the softball field were shared, along with estimates for drainage work and the removal of old tennis courts. The athletics committee chairman, Ryan Binder, reported positive feedback from winter coaches during exit interviews and thanked them for their dedication. Future meetings of the WASB are scheduled for Wednesdays, May 1 and 8, at 6 p.m. in the Middle School LGI room
