Jasson Dominguez of the Yankees to begin rehab games in two weeks

Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez is making progress in his recovery and rehab from Tommy John surgery, according to manager Aaron Boone. The 21-year-old is nearing the start of playing in rehab games, with the expectation that he will begin as a designated hitter for the first two weeks before transitioning back to the outfield.

Dominguez has been actively participating in live batting practices and defensive drills in recent weeks as he continues to progress in his rehab. The switch-hitter made his Major League debut last season on September 1 and showed promise in eight games before his injury.

In early February, Dominguez began throwing and started hitting off a tee at the end of the month. By March, he had progressed to throwing from 75 feet and hitting from both sides of the plate as he continues to work towards returning to full strength. With his rehab progressing well, he is on track to make a strong comeback once he is fully recovered from his surgery.
