Delays continue as Alaska Airlines lifts ground stop

Alaska Airlines experienced a system issue during an upgrade that led to a temporary grounding of their flights. The issue occurred during a system upgrade that calculates weight and balance, prompting the airline to request a ground stop for all Alaska and Horizon flights. The ground stop was in effect around 7:30 am PT and was lifted at approximately 8:30 am PT after the issue was addressed.

The Federal Aviation Administration had been involved in grounding the Alaska Airlines flights across the nation following the resolution of the issue. Although the airline has started releasing flights, passengers should expect residual delays throughout the day. Alaska Airlines apologizes for any inconvenience caused and recommends that passengers check the status of their flights on their website or app before heading to the airport.
