Armed Palestinian Groups in Gaza Rob Multiple Banks, Stealing 66 Million Euros

On April 16, Palestinian armed groups in Gaza City stole approximately 2.8 million euros from the main branch of the Bank of Palestine through a hole in the ceiling. The following day, they returned and detonated three safes containing around 29 million euros. Over the course of three days, the robbers made off with a total of 33.6 million euros, highlighting a significant security concern in the Gaza Strip.

According to a report from French newspaper Le Monde, these incidents were carried out by individuals pretending to be Hamas, one of the armed groups operating in the Gaza Strip. The Bank of Palestine provided this information to Le Monde.

These robberies have brought attention to the ongoing criminal activities taking place in Gaza, as armed groups continue to engage in illegal activities such as bank robberies. In response to these incidents, the Bank of Palestine is now working to address vulnerabilities and ensure the safety of their assets and personnel moving forward.
