Fugro’s net-zero targets approved by Science Based Targets initiative

Fugro has been recognized by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its dedication to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its value chain by 2050. The company’s long-term science-based target encompasses all three emission scopes, with the ultimate goal of reducing scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by at least 90% by 2050.

In addition to its long-term target, Fugro has set near-term targets to achieve net-zero carbon emission operations by 2035 for scopes 1 and 2. The company is actively working on transitioning to an uncrewed vessel fleet and converting one of its vessels, the Fugro Pioneer, to use green methanol as part of its sustainability efforts.

Fugro’s near-term targets include goals to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions by 54.6% by 2033, increase the sourcing of renewable electricity from 47% to 80% by 2025 and to 100% by 2030 for scope 2, and reduce absolute scope
