On April 25, 2024, several notable deaths occurred in the region. Lois Irene (Bastian) Barton, aged 96, passed away in Johnstown. She was the daughter of Michael and Anna (Kehl) Bastian and was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, as well as her siblings, Florence and Charles.
Also on that day, Ella J. “Judy” Carroll, aged 89, of Chest Springs passed away. Born in Glen Daniel, W.Va., she was the daughter of Dalton and Delila (Brooks) Claypool. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Carroll, and her sons David Martin “Duff” and Michael Lee.
In Hollidaysburg on April 25th, Stacy Elise Lasser lost her battle with liver cancer at the age of 45. She is survived by her loving parents Byron and Ronna (Schwartz) Lasser as well as uncles, aunts and other relatives.
Lastly on April 25th , Shary Lee (Meredith) Weis passed away peacefully in St Petersburg at the age of 60 after a short battle with cancer . She was born in Altoona to D Reid Meredith and Mary Lee (Pope) Meredith , she graduated from Altoona Area High School . Shary is survived by her family and loved ones
